About Me
Who TF am I?
Hey, Lexie…
Did you go to college?
Yes. I graduated Scripps College in Claremont, CA in 2008 with a self-designed major in Creative Writing for Modern Media Markets. I also received the first ever Writing Department Award for my senior thesis.
How many colleges did you apply to?
You write film and TV? Have I seen your work?
Not yet. I have several projects in development that may never get made. I’ve been hired to write drafts of movies that may never get made. That’s the nature of the entertainment business.
If you’re so successful in Film/TV, why are you offering this service?
Because work in TV/Film is not regular. And because I’ve been doing this college essay work for years for free, for friends and family, and I’ve discovered that I really, really enjoy it. I love helping people to not be scared of writing, and to hone their voices and stories. It’s so immediately gratifying in a way that Film/TV is not.
What is your success rate?
Everyone I’ve helped has been admitted to at least one of their top 3 choices. My clients appreciate discretion, so references are available upon request.
My Story
I’ve always been a writer. I’m trained in it and I make a living at it, and I’ve always helped those who don’t love it as much as I do. Here’s a pic of me the night before college graduation, editing my friend’s essay for medical school applications. She got in… and was offered a full ride… because she’s amazing. But the essay didn’t hurt.
Since that night, I’ve helped many friends and family with their admission essays. I noticed that one thing all of them seemed to have in common – all of these incredibly bright, motivated, passionate and well-rounded students – was anxiety about writing personal essays. And it makes sense; writing about yourself is hard and unlike any other writing. After countless hours counseling and cajoling and supporting and cheering and painstakingly helping these wonderful students craft their essays, I took all the common pitfalls of the process and used them to develop a system.
As soon as I implemented it, the work got so much easier, more fun, and enjoyable. And the essays were stellar; personal, surprising, fresh, and memorable. I started getting referrals, and a service was born. I would love to help you, too.
My Mission
… is to unlock doors with your essays.
The first and hardest door is within you. If you let me, we’ll unleash your hidden super powers – your sense of humor, your unbelievable true story, your outlandish defense of the worst [insert whatever] of all time – and use them to lift you above the other amazing superstar candidates.
The second door is your admissions counselors’ hearts, and we’ll slip past their exhaustion and overload to grab the part of them that still loves their job.
The third door? That depends on you. What else can writing skills unlock in your future? Dating app profiles, scholarship essays, grad school applications, grant applications, business plans, pitch decks… the sky’s the limit, once you have the tools.
